Where are you on an MBTI personality test?

Standing for Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, an MBTI test is a calculator that assesses your personality, indicating how different people with different psychological preferences perceive the world. Categorised into 16 different types, each personality type is rooted in different cognitive functions.

When everyone is a little different, it brings a variety of quirky personalities into this world. And did you know that we can tell what personality type someone is based on their statement piece preference?

1.ENFP (Extraverted iNtuitive Feeling Perceiving)- Hanging Chair

ENFPs are often lauded as enthusiastic, charismatic and creative. They can be charming, energetic, and independent. They thrive best when their creativity is allowed to flow freely.

A hanging chair is a perfect statement piece for an ENFP as it is a fun addition to a room that also maximises space in a creative manner. It also attracts attention, but not too much!

Can you imagine someone of this boisterous yet thoughtful personality just perching in their chair, swinging, while brainstorming new ideas? If you know someone with this personality type, then you know what to give them for their birthday!

2. INFP (Introverted iNtuitive Feeling Perceiving)Canopy bed

INFP’s are usually the quiet kids in the back of the class when we were in school. They are introverted, quiet and reserved but they see everything. Despite working better alone, they are caring towards others and value close relationships.

That being said, a cozy canopy bed is perfect for INFPs! They are able to hide away and seek comfort in private, or share this quiet space with their special one.

If an INFP invites you to step through their doors, you should feel pretty special.

3. ENTP (Extraverted iNtuitive Thinking Perceiving) – Changeable Furniture

ENTPs are like an overexcited puppy just bouncing off the walls with excitement. They enjoy being with other people and engage in conversations that can potentially turn into debates. But don’t worry, they are still pretty laid back and easy to get along with.

As they are always thinking ahead and moving forward with their lives, there is no better statement piece for this personality type other than…an adaptable piece of furniture. Couches that unfold into beds? Or maybe mini-tables that are also bookcases?

ENTPs are always looking for things that can work with them, and keep up with their pace.

4. INTP (Introverted iNtuitive Thinking Perceiving)- Floor-to-Ceiling Bookshelves

Known as The Thinker, INTPs are constantly wrapped up in theoretical concepts of the world. When analysing data, they are very logical and objective, making them good decision-makers.

Have you seen Beauty and the Beast? Remember how happy Belle was when she was gifted an entire library full of books?

That is how an INTP will react, seeing a floor-to-ceiling bookshelf packed and stacked with books. Leave them be and let them theorise away.

5. ESFJ (Extraverted Sensing Feeling Judging) – Chandelier

ESFJs are a walking paradox. Despite their outgoing personalities, they can be somewhat needy and in constant need of reassurance. Due to this, they crave attention and love to entertain. Always eager to help others, many people are drawn to people from this personality type.

And a chandelier perfectly summarises them! Bright and the center of attention of a room, it is everything someone with this personality type strives to be: a source of light and beauty.

6. ISFJ (Introverted Sensing Feeling Judging)- Oversized rug

ISFJs are constant and rooted in tradition. However, this does not mean they are not adaptable! They are also sensitive but reliable, and dislike confrontations. Due to their personality, they tend to be the glue that holds a group together, providing security to others.

An oversize rug is just the statement piece you might find rolled out on the floor of someone with an ISFJ personality. They like to feel secure and comfortable, and they want you to feel the same way.

7. ESTJ (Extraverted Sensing Thinking Judging) – Large clock

Practical, self-confident, and realistic are the three main traits that make up an ESTJ personality type. They keep a rigid routine and constantly keep busy, although they can sometimes come off as overly critical and aggressive.

A large clock is just the statement piece someone with an ESTJ personality type would appreciate, despite how picky they can be, as it reflects their preference for something bold and practical.

8. ISTJ (Introverted Sensing Thinking Judging)- Framed Family Portrait

ISTJs can be old fashioned. They loyally obey the laws and follow traditions, feeling safe and secure when there is an order to things. They are very well-organised and tend to gravitate towards family aspirations, preferring to cook dinner and clean after their loved ones.

A set of family portraits decorating their walls as a statement piece can function as a reminder of their priorities, and reminding them to take a breather and just calm down. The calming thought of their loved ones might even get them to loosen up a little!

Everything in this world is made up of different little puzzle pieces that come together as a whole. We complement one another, in spite of the gap in our differences.

What makes us different, makes us special.
