- Discover the art of charitable batik heritage, where creativity meets kindness.
- Welcoming spaces for nurturing a child’s artistic potential.
Paintings of any kind have a beauty that goes beyond the scope of any single definition. This variety of interpretations makes art so appealing, even if not many can fully grasp or appreciate the depth of artistry inherent in a painting. But for me, admiring them is not enough. Although sometimes one would think that creating one beautiful piece of art yourself is daunting, to begin with, this is indubitably not true as anyone can paint. Some countless studios and workshops are open to the public to experience creating art and express our emotions through painting. Let’s join me on a fantastic voyage as I discover the pleasant world of painting.

In the bustling heart of Kuala Lumpur, my partner and I were in search of a romantic but unique way to spend the night. We both had long yearned for an experience that would satisfy our need for expression, interaction, and romance. That was when we discovered Art & Bonding.
Art & Bonding, established in 2017, had an inspiring sense of individuality. Although we were interested in several of the studio’s other offerings, Sip & Paint Night that got our attention. The combination of painting and wine tasting was ideal. We had a great time as we allowed our imaginations to run wild in the company of like-minded art lovers.
Art & Bonding goes beyond art classes. Their idea of art-themed events piqued my interest too. I realised this was a perfect idea to make our party as unique as any of us. With their help, we can turn a regular night into a masterpiece of joy, originality, and lasting memories for everyone involved.
With rates ranging from RM130 to RM220 per session, joining their art studio is an absolute steal. Not only do they provide us with fully prepared art supplies, but the experience and the knowledge value we will gain will go beyond the monetary aspect. It is priceless!

Many of us are going through some incredibly challenging times with our mental health issues. It is not always simple to cope with or talk about these feelings with others. But art can be a powerful way to let those emotions out. That is where ARTherapy comes in to play.
ARTherapy is a studio that aims to be a form of therapy for us battling with our own minds. And that includes myself. When I was going through therapy, one thing I was told to do by my therapist was to draw and paint. My paintings are said to decipher unspoken stories that I could never express in words to the world.
This place is where we get to pour our hearts out throught the medium of arts. There is no right or wrong; it’s just about expressing oneself creatively. It’s about withdrawing from the world’s tumult and delving into your own mind through the whirls of colour and form.
Workshops are plentiful at ARTherapy. Some may like how acrylics let us use broad, colourful brushstrokes to convey our emotions. Some may find comfort in the delicate, ethereal sentiments possible with watercolours. Another extreme is oil painting, where each layer has its own narrative.
Either way, it’s more than just the medium; it’s the community. In ARTherapy, you are not alone in your struggles. It’s a community of people who know what fighting against one’s thoughts is like. With an affordable price of RM88, people can connect via the shared experience of art and the sharing of personal stories.

Discovering art, culture, and heritage with MyBatik. Photo Source: Facebook MyBatik
And, of course, I would not be able to call myself a Malaysian if I did not write about Batik, the artistic gem that embodies the soul of Malaysia. I’ve only learned batik painting during my time in primary school. Although I lack experience and am not a pro batik painter, my memories with it were unforgettable. I had learned how wax is used; each pattern is one-of-a-kind; each design is with its own tale, and they all resound with the splendour that is inherent in our culture and tradition.
Emilia Tan, a well-known batik artist, founded MyBatik Kuala Lumpur to preserve and promote the batik heritage. MyBatik is an excellent place for anyone, local and international, to learn the art of making batik as well as the procedures involved in doing so.
MyBatik Kuala Lumpur is remarkable because of the special way art and kindness are combined. Their active commitment to charity work is a particularly endearing facet of the company. People from all walks of life, such as youngsters with HIV, children with Down Syndrome, Dyslexia children, and others in need, can benefit from MyBatik free lessons to develop their creativity and gain comfort in the colourful world of batik painting.
These creative products will then be sold via the MyBatik Kuala Lumpur website, with all profits going directly into the hands of the extraordinary artists. You, yourself, can take part in the charity by purchasing their beautiful batik painting!
MyBatik Kuala Lumpur produces a stunning fabric of civic pride and social responsibility by weaving together artistic expression, academic and charitable giving. A location where art can bring about good in the world and serve as a source of inspiration for the disadvantaged.
